About Artist
Having grown up in a family of artists, Shruthi Rajalakshmi start-ed formal training in Bharatanatyam at the age of seven under Guru B. Bhanumati and Smt Sheela Chandrasekhar (Nrityakalamandiram), and has been learning under them for the past 17 years. She has grown up observing them and imbibing their style through the years. As part of the junior performing group, she has performed for various occasions in and outside Bangalore like ISKCON Bangalore, BANGALORE HABBA, HAM-PI UTSAVA, NADAM Festival, etc. She has also appeared in Doordarshan, Zee Kannada etc. as part of various productions of Nrityakalamandiram.
She began her music lessons under Late Smt Janaki and is now undergoing advanced training in Carnatic Vocal under Guru Vidushi Vasantha Madhavi. Shruthi is a post graduate in Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and is currently working in NIMHANS Centre for Well-Being.
