Geeta Sirisha

Vid. Geeta Sirisha’s tryst with Bharatanatyam began at the age of five, when her parents initiated her into the fascinating world of dance under the guidance of Guru Sri. K R S Prasanna. As a child, she was attracted to the graceful movements and rhythmic patterns of the art. She later trained under “The Kirans” where she learnt the nuances of the art form, thus widening her dance vocabulary.

Fluid grace, neat lines and innate sense of abhinaya mark Sirisha’s performances. Her deep rooted passion combined with commitment, dedication and hard-work help her in bringing out the best in her performances. She is a graded artist of the Doordarshan and has completed her Vidwath conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board with top honours.

She has performed at various prestigious platforms and many dance festivals across India. Her performances have received widespread critical acclaim. What began as a childhood passion has now transformed into a life-long journey to preserve, pursue and propagate this wonderful art-form. She believes in inculcating a strong understanding about the art in children such that they carry on this tradition whole heartedly for a long time to come. This led her to establish “Nataraja Arts Academy”, where she trains young and old alike in this wonderful art-form.
