About Artist
Trained under his paternal uncle Guru. Vidhwan. D.V. Nagaraja from Vijaya College of music, Jaynagar, Bangalore, Srivathsa completed his proficiency exam in Carnatic Music with distinction. Having performed at many esteemed music sabhas in India and abroad, Srivathsa is the receipient of Karnataka Kalashree award for the year 2010, awarded by the Karnataka State Sangeeta Nritya academy.
Srivathsa has come a long way in carving a niche for himself in dance singing. Introduced to the art of Dance-Singing by Guru. Kum. B.Bhanumathi, a leading dance Guru of Bangalore, Srivathsa had the privilege of learning dance from her for five years. Authentic Ragabhava, crystal-clear rendering of lyrics and high quality emotional content that blends into the dancer’s performance are the qualities that embellish Srivathsa’s singing.
Srivathsa along with his wife Dr.Soundarya, an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, head the dance and music institution NARTANA KEERTANA at Bangalore.
